Please RSVP on the website ASAP but no later than November 30, 2023, so we can get an accurate headcount and arrange rooms. Be sure to let us know if you will stay for the entire duration and list any dietary restrictions.
Can I bring my children?
We love your kids, but unfortunately, space is very limited at the chateau, so we ask that you speak with us before making your travel plans.
Where are you registered?
We are not registered because the gift of your presence is all we want! If you are unable to make it or would like to contribute to our honeymoon fund you are more than welcome but we have no expectations. We're just so glad you've decided to celebrate with us!
What time should I plan to arrive and depart?
You should plan to arrive at the chateau on May 6 no later than 7 pm (check in is at 4 pm) so you arrive in time for the welcome dinner at 7:30. Departure is on May 9 with checkout at 10 am.
How do I get to the chateau?
Please see the travel section on the website for all the details!
What is the weather like?
May in Vernantes is somewhat unpredictable. Temperatures in early morning and night are usually in the 50’s, while mid-day and early evening can be into the mid-70’s. It can be humid and sometimes rains (more so in Paris). We recommend layers and bringing an umbrella/rain coat just in case.
What should I wear to the Welcome Dinner and Wedding?
We want everyone to be comfortable throughout the wedding celebrations and are happy to answer any specific questions you have about what to wear. Our only strong requests are that no one besides the bride wears white or voluminous gowns and that no one wears bright colors (i.e. neons or a hot pink...sorry, Barbie fans).
Welcome Dinner: We recommend dressy-casual attire. It will take place on the third floor terrace so there may be a breeze. For women, think spring sundresses, jumpsuits, or dress pants and a nice top, and for men, think chinos, dress shirts with no tie, and nice shoes (no sneakers please). We also recommend light sweaters/jackets for everyone as it may get chilly as the sun sets.
Wedding Day: We would like all of our guests to wear spring inspired formal attire for the wedding. We suggest men wear a lightweight suit with ties optional, and women wear a midi or knee-length cocktail dress, simple evening gown, or dressy pants suit. (See here for descriptions: https://onefabday.com/wedding-dress-codes/) The ceremony will be in the early evening, outdoors and on grass, as will the dinner, so please consider that when choosing shoes.
For inspiration see the photos below. Our colors are dusty pale rose and sage/eucalyptus green with gold accents. Think French chateau in Spring - beautiful florals, more muted colors and gem tones - but even black is fabulous!

Are there any styles or colors you prefer I don't wear?
We request that no one but the bride wears white for the duration of the weekend, and that you keep color choices to more muted tones. We would like to avoid loud or neon colors. Black, navy blue, or gem tones are perfectly fine though!
Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?
The majority of the wedding events will be outside, weather permitting. The ceremony will be on the front lawn, the cocktail hour will be on the front terrace, and the dinner will be on the back lawn. Dress accordingly and women should strongly consider NOT wearing spiked heels.
Can I take photos or post on social media?
We would like all of our guests to be fully present during as much the festivities as possible, especially for the ceremony. Please turn your phone off and keep it away through the entire ceremony. We have amazing photographers who will capture all of the great moments for us!
You are more than welcome to post on social media anytime! We don't have a hashtag but will be sharing a link for everyone to share photos so no one feels like they have to be constantly snapping pictures to capture the memories.
What type of food will be served?
Since you know us, you know we're big foodies! This was a very important part of planning for us and all of the food will be amazing :) Please let us know any critical dietary restrictions when you RSVP so we can plan accordingly.
Breakfast will be served buffet style in the dining room each morning and will be traditional French with pastries and coffee, as well as fruits, yogurt, granola, etc.
Lunch will be provided on the wedding day with brunch the day after.
The welcome dinner will be buffet style with options for all dietary restrictions.
On the wedding day, there will be cocktails and passed hors d'oeuvres from 5:30 pm to 7 pm. The wedding dinner will follow and be seated service modified for vegetarians. Everyone else will receive the same meal (with adjustments made only for allergies) that will be made with seasonal, local ingredients, and include our favorite - the traditional French cheese course! There will also be late night snacks while we dance the night away :)
The final day will include a brunch and evening lamb roast with lots of side dishes and salads as well as grilled vegetables and options for vegetarians.
Will there be an open bar?
There will be an open bar for all organized events including the welcome dinner, cocktail hour, wedding dinner, after party, and the lamb roast.
What if I forgot something? What can I get locally?
Vernantes is a very small town with a few corner shops and a small Walmart like grocery store called Super-U just a 5 minute drive from the chateau. If you've forgotten something, let us know and we will try to help.
Is there wifi?
Yes, wifi is available throughout the chateau.
Is there A/C or heat?
The chateau is not airconditioned, but should not get overly hot and can actually be cold overnight! There is heat in the rooms if needed as well, and every room has incredible views with windows/doors that open for fresh air. The thick stone walls are perfect for the climate and the top floor and most of the south-facing rooms have ceiling fans. The chateau will also provide floor fans upon request if needed.
